Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Noterix ("Noterix", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you visit our website, purchase a license, or use the Noterix desktop application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you purchase or activate a license, we associate it with the email address you use at checkout. You do not need to create a password-based account to use the app; your license key identifies your entitlement.
Purchase information
Payments are processed by our payment provider, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited), which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes your billing details and payment method. We do not receive or store your full card number or payment credentials. We receive limited order data such as your email address, the product purchased, the order/transaction reference, amount, currency, and country, which we use to deliver and support your license.
License information
We store your license key, the plan purchased, activation status, and the devices on which the license has been activated, so we can deliver your license, enforce activation limits, and provide support.
Email communications
We send transactional emails required to provide the service — for example, your license key, purchase confirmations, trial and expiry reminders, and support replies. These are sent through our email provider, Resend. We do not send marketing email without a lawful basis or your consent, and you can contact us to opt out of non-essential messages.
Support messages
If you contact us for support, we process the information you provide (such as your email address and message) to respond and resolve your request.
2. Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies strictly necessary for it to function and to complete checkout. Our payment provider, Paddle, may set cookies required to process your transaction securely. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you.
3. Analytics
We may collect limited, aggregated technical information (such as page views and general usage) to keep the website reliable and improve it. Where analytics are used, they are configured to avoid collecting unnecessary personal data. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. How we use your information
- To deliver your license and provide the Noterix application and updates.
- To send transactional emails (license delivery, receipts, reminders, support).
- To provide customer support and process refunds.
- To prevent fraud and abuse and to enforce our Terms.
- To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
5. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we process your data on the following bases: performance of a contract (to deliver and support your license), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the service and prevent abuse), consent (where required, e.g. non-essential communications), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
6. Data retention
We keep purchase and license records for as long as your license is valid and for the period required to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period thereafter. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at shailevi2004@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, restricted access to systems that hold personal data, and storing secrets (such as API keys) only on the server and never in client software. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
9. International transfers
Noterix operates online and our providers (including Paddle and Resend) may process data in countries other than your own. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we and our providers rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under applicable law (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect it.
10. Children
Noterix is not directed to children under the age required for consent in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
12. Contact
For any privacy question or request, contact us at shailevi2004@gmail.com. Billing and payment enquiries can also be directed to Paddle, our Merchant of Record.
